Riley grabbed a rag and wiped the oil from her hands. She sighed, and
inhaled the great heat the sun was beaming down on her. She pulled the
hair out of her face and closed the hood of her black eclipse. She glanced
down at her watch, and it read 1:04. Her lunch break was over.
"Riley! Come back in here, we got customers!" Harry called.
"Yeah dad, be right there."
"And clean up before you come back! You work over the counter, not
in a garage!"
Riley came out from the bathroom in a clean, cut off Racer's Edge t- shirt. Her hair was pulled up in a messy bun, and she wore low cut jeans. She walked behind the counter, and fiddled with the computer, checking the orders for the next week. Her father was busy talking to someone over in the far corner of the store. The phone rang. "Racer's Edge, Riley here." She answered, still fiddling with the computer. "Can I speak with Harry?" "I'm sorry, he's tied up at the moment. This is his daughter, can I take a message?" Riley took down the information and hung up the phone, taping the message to the counter. She turned her back for a moment, to grab a file, but when she turned back, a young man stood before her. The same young man who had been in the store several times this week, all on her shift. "Can I help you with something?" Riley asked, her bright brown eyes locked with his sparkling blue ones. Brian was a bit spaced out, but returned when he saw her smile, he came back to earth. "Ugh, yeah, I'm gonna' need six, four liters of NOS." Riley was busy typing away into the computer. "Damn." She said, referring to the tone of his voice. "What was that?" Brian asked, not catching what she meant. Riley looked up and laughed, "O'Conner, right?" "Yeah." "Payin' Cash?" Brian was about to speak, but a deeper voice interrupted him. Dominic Toretto stood behind him, "Put it on my tab Riley." Riley looked up, and then back down. The voice was enough, she knew who it was. "Right Toretto." Dominic had turned to go, but Brian was still standing, gazing at Riley. Riley met his gaze and smiled. "O'Conner, lets roll, we got work to do for tonight!" Dom called. Brian nodded, and turned. "See ya around O'Conner." Riley called, and she winked. Brian smiled, and followed Dom out of Racer's Edge.
