I visited Shiloh's grave often and told him about how life at the
camp was going. I told him that soon he would have a son. I felt that when
I was there with him at his grave, nothing else mattered; and nothing did.
Being a general, and being pregnant made everyone stay out of my way.
Around my eighth month, more intruders came along. I wanted to get out
there and fight, not against the intruders but the camp. I stayed inside
and watched. After the war I came out to tell the soldiers what they had
done wrong. During my lecture, I went into labor. Six hours later, my baby
was born.
"Congratulations, General Freelancer." My sector cheered.
"Thank you." I answered.
"What did you name him?" someone asked.
"Shiloh. After his father." And with that everyone gasped.
They all started whispering like it was a bad thing. I reached underneath my bed and pulled out a gun. Within an instant they were all dead. It was only the beginning. I wiped the gun and stuck it back into its holster. With my baby in my arms, I started screaming. Seconds later nurses filled the room and questioned me. I lied about killing them. I was sent back to the camp with my new born. I couldn't stay for long. That night I was to escape and plant a bomb under the main building.
Around twelve thirty I gathered my things and my brother met me inside my apartment. He took the baby and got into the car. I crawled through the ventilation shaft down to the bottom of the High Council Building. I placed the bomb near the center and stuck the detonator in my uniform pocket. Earlier, my brother had placed a bomb underneath the sector building. As I entered the car, my brother gave me a look.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" he asked me.
"Yes," I answered as I picked up baby Shiloh.
"But what about out parents and other brothers?" Phillip didn't like the idea very well.
"Don't get me wrong, my brother, I love them. I have searched for years to try and find them. If they were in my situation, they would do the same." I answered him with strong belief.
"You're right, Adrienne." He smiled at me as he rubbed his hand across Shiloh's bare head.
"Now let's get this show on the road!" I laughed.
Phillip pulled up to the gate and told the guards that we were leaving for supplies for the baby. The motioned for us to go. As we turned the corner on the road ahead, I pushed the detonator button. Looking into the side mirror, I saw everything go up in smoke. I held my baby close to my chest and said a little prayer.
