Okay, I came up with the idea of doing a paragraph of each character's thoughts. This is Spike's. He is reminiscing about the day he lost Julia. This takes place after the manga, so that I don't have to explain how he came back alive (even though the manga doesn't explain it).

I don't remember a word of what she said to me… It's so hard for me to even think back to that day now. Hell, it's hard to even conceive thinking about it… It's ironic that on the very same day that I lost her, I found my life. Once the pain of grief passed, I lit a cigarette. Then, I opened a bottle of vodka, and took a swig. That was it. That was my new beginning. There was no incredible happiness to it. There was no celebration for it. Instead, there was only the mourning of lost lives, and the heavy scent of alcohol on my breath. The only thing I remember about that day is what I said to Faye… I only remember how she felt so strongly about it…
