"Actions & Reactions"

Author's notes: This is my first posting outside of the ER category, and I have been meaning to post for a while. I don't know where this random piece sprang from, but I had these lines of dialogue going round and round in my head and knew that if I didn't write them down I would lose them and then probably kick myself for not writing them down and making something of them while I could. So I wrote them down, and though it has taken me a long time to make something of them, here's the piece of ridiculous fluff I came out with. Written post season 2 but pre season 3.

Disclaimer: I don't own them and I would never claim to, they belong to someone far away who has a lot more talent and money than me. I'm just having a little fun here. Besides, I'm a student and I own nothing worth having.

The boardroom on the ninth floor of this particular Chicago hotel was supposed to be deserted. The staff, having been given the night off following a very dull day of meetings, had decided they liked each others company more than their own. CJ was sitting opposite Donna, who was looking very flustered about something, and flanked by Bonnie and Ginger. From the end of the table, Josh watched proceedings with a semi-amused smirk.
"Oh come on,"
The blonde pushed her hair behind her ear, sticking her nose in the air.
"What? You agreed to play,"
The mischief in the press secretary's tone was all too obvious. Donna fixed her with a level glare.
"Before I knew how juvenile you were,"
"Hey! I refute that allegation,"
The sole male occupant of the room interjected. She shot him a withering glare. CJ ignored the distraction.
"We're all grown adults here,"
Donna said, pointedly breaking eye contact with all other parties in the room.
"So?"
CJ challenged instantly.
"So?!? We used to play this in high school,"
She tried to sound incredulous. CJ cocked her head knowingly, seeing the faint red colour rising in the assistants cheeks.
"You're embarrassed,"
"No, I'm not,"
Denial didn't look good on her, Donna knew that, and she knew that the people in this room would be able to see right through her.
"She doesn't get embarrassed,"
"Thanks,"
She turned again to her boss, sarcasm embedded deep in her tone.
"You said dare. That's your dare. Now just pray it isn't Leo,"
There was halfway to evil smile accompanying CJ's last statement. The entire room, asides of Donna who's entire being was still railing against this indignity, had to stifle a laugh.
"Yeah, he'd react *so* well to that,"
"I'm not even going there,"
