Song of Mana

Light holdeth me in violet threads,

I am the summer sky.

Never do I laugh, never do I lie,

But cry and hide instead.

Tears are lost in mana's song,

Frozen, sheathed in ice.

I push away and I entice,

Bring to Hel the throng.

But Hel is I in very flesh,

In flame and heat and stone.

My secret shadows you think you own,

Unseen until the spirits mesh.

Life is light, and light is death,

So is death, in fact, life?

The Goddess exists apart from space and time,

Rather than inside.

Away from mortal concerns,

Away from life,

Away from death,

Away from time and space.

You hear the song of mana,

But can you see her face?

Well well! A new chappie for a long forgotten fanfic collection! I enjoy this poem a lot, though parts of it are strained. 'Tis about the Mana Goddess, and her doubts and fears and loneliness.
