Your Just Like Me

[Harry's first train ride to Hogwarts]

"So you must know loads of magic already."

The Weasleys were clearly one of those old wizarding families the pale boy in Diagon Alley had talked about.

"I heard you went to live with Muggles," said Ron. "What are they like?"

"Horrible- well, not all of them. My aunt and uncle and cousin are though. Wish I'd had three wizard brothers"

"Five" said Ron. For some reason, he was looking gloomy. "I'm the sixth in our family to go to Hogwarts. You could say I've got a lot to live up to. Bill and Charlie have already left- Bill was Head Boy and Charlie was Captain of Quidditch. Now Percy's a Prefect. Fred and George mess around a lot, but they still get really good marks and everyone thinks they're really funny. Everyone expects me to do as well as the others, but if I do, it's no big deal, because they did it first. You never get anything new, either, with five brothers. I've got Bill's old robes, Charlie's old wand and Percy's old rat".

Harry smiled at Ron reassuringly. "You don't really have to live up to anyone's expectations Ron, I think your pretty unique myself."

Ron grinned back at Harry. "Thanks."

Harry continued on with a shrug. "Not a big deal not having anything new either, all my clothes are hand me downs-" he pointed to his faded, overlarge blue button down shirt and tattered jeans. "They're all Dudley's old clothes…. I've never really had anything new either."

Ron still looked a bit unsure. "Well, you're going to be able to afford loads of stuff! I mean, you managed to nearly buy half the trolley!" he said with a laugh.

Harry grinned, "Well, it's just nice having someone to share it with."

Ron blushed a crimson red and turned away. "Yeah, yeah, you could say that."

Harry did something Ron wasn't expecting,-he laid his hand on top of Ron's and caught his eye. "I was being dead serious when I said you were unique to me, even if that doesn't apply to anyone else."

Ron could barely manage to get the words out. "You've-you, well you've only known me for a few minutes Harry!''

Harry shrugged. "Doesn't matter, any time is a good time."

Ron stuttered on. "But-but well, I mean-"

Harry put his other hand on Ron's mouth, cutting him off. "Shh," he said with a whisper.

"Harrywhatareyou-gg" Ron tried mumbling through Harry's hand.

Removing his hand from Ron's mouth, Harry took a deep breath and kissed him lightly on the lips.

Ron's eyes were as wide as canyons when Harry pulled away, flushed with embarrassment.

"Did I prove my point?" Harry asked with a unsure smile.

Ron nodded. "Yes, yes- you did. You proved your point."
