-In the end it always comes to this.- This was the thought that coursed through the realm of Tortall's sole lady knight's mind. This thought had haunted her for many nights. Sleep would not come as long as she was stuck on this thought. Sleep would never come, that she realized. With this she would reach a kind of sleep, but not truthfully.
She heard the whisper in the back of her mind that was always present. -He would care.- She banished the thought and slipped out of her bed. A wave of sadness washed over her, but she ignored it. If she was going to do this, she would have to hurry. She didn't want to feel the morning sun ever again.
-You're going to break his heart and you know it- she stopped, was this truly the right thing to do? She shook her head. Of course, she couldn't second-guess it now, it was too late. If she didn't follow through with this now, it would haunt her.
She ignored her twisted heart and broke into a run once she was outside of the palace. She would end this cheating, lying life of hers in more way then one. -He will kill him self! Then where will the world be?!- I don't care, it's not my problem anymore.
She ignored the tears welling up in her purple eyes and closed them. She palmed her silver dagger and readied her self. She carved an x into her body, she felt life fleeing her. Just before she was gone, she heard a voice. A voice that made her regret her choice. Just one word was said, but she would never know why.
