~An Encounter with Life and Death~

White light flared around me and pain went shooting through every part of my body. Shapes and colors swirled around me but nothing came into focus, and the only thing I could think was that I was going to die. Someone called my name and then everything went black.

"New mission everyone" I said.
Groans were heard across the room from the four teens sitting in overstuffed blue armchairs.
An indiscernible sentence was heard coming from Duo. Strange looks were shot at him from the other four pilots. He swallowed the banana he was chewing, and said "Common Heero, we just went on one yesterday. You can't be serious!"
"I am. Get your Gundams, we leave in five."

The first thing I heard as I resurfaced into consciousness was the monotone beeping. I slowly opened my eyes and discovered it was my IV and life support system. Then panic swept over me. Hospital. Identification. Oz. I reached for my gun as I made a move to jump out of the bed but only succeeded in finding the cloth of my hospital gown and sending a shooting pain through my spine. Realizing that there was nothing I could do, I gave up and slid back into sleep.

I gave out our orders to my fellow pilots as we stood in the hanger by our Gundams. Trowa had his arm around Quatre protectively, as I did around Duo. Wufei stood separated from us with an abnormal look of both disgust and focus.
Once orders were given out, I followed Duo to his Gundam.
"Promise me you won't get yourself killed" I whispered and then kissed him lightly.
"I won't, but same goes for you. No fatal injuries this time!" Duo grinned, then turned and hopped into his Gundam.
I nodded, sighed, and walked the few additional steps to Wing, and climbed in. -=end of flashback=-
"Heero!"
I awoke to someone calling my name very close to my ear. I groggily opened my eyes to be rewarded with Duo standing over me. I responded to his deep kiss as well as I could, but it seemed that my body wouldn't respond to what I told it to do. I did however taste the salty wetness of tears from Duo.
"Heero.you promised you wouldn't hurt yourself." He broke down. "I love you, you can't leave me here."
"Duo.I.love.you" I gasped out as I slid into a darkness different from sleep.
The next thing I knew I was cradled in something soft and warm. My senses went on red alert.nothing I knew was this soft.
"Heero!" A booming voice echoed around me and I looked up for the familiar intercom. Instead I saw an enormous white cloud hanging above me. This proved to be the thing that had talked.
I jumped up, not noticing for the moment that all the pain had disappeared. "Omae O Korosu!"
"I'm very sorry, but you can't, even though you never go through with the threat anyhow. I am the all powerful. And you will listen to me."
"Wing?" That would make sense.
"God" the booming voice shouted at me.
"Oh." I sat back down in surprise.
"And it is time for you to pass on into your next life."
I got another life? I shrugged. One more way to finish off OZ.I was ready!
*FOOMP*
I landed in a deserted alleyway with a bark of surprise. I covered my mouth. No! It was a snout! I turned around three times, then lay down on the wet cement to think. Being a dog in my next life wasn't what I had expected, but then again, Zechs did always like animals.
