Joxer The Mighty... Indeed

by Eris © 1998 -- All rights reserved.

"Joxer the Mighty," he sings to make believe,
but a sole person, himself, he manages to deceive.
Boasts and bravado can't disguise the real truth,
that he's a bumbling-fumbling idiot, egotistical and uncouth.

From his clanky-clunky armor rattling like pots and pans
hanging from his sunken chest like oh so many cans,
to his foppish oversized helmet and daggers so very small,
an intimidating figure he does not project at all.

Though he tries his best and works real hard to perfect his warrior trade,
no matter what he seems to do he just can't make the grade.

Truth be told a heart of gold beats somewhere *deep* inside that breast,
for the love of a certain woman he would die for -- at his best.
If she'd just return the affection, he'd make it his life's work
to honor her and cherish her and ne'er again act the jerk.

But a heart of gold falls short when lives are on the line,
it's confidence and skills you need to stave off that box of pine.
So put away your crazy schemes, ideas and foolish notions,
and lay down the arms and armor without so much commotion.

Joxer, Mighty Joxer, believe what you've been told,
take up the reel and fish a while -- you're *not* a warrior bold.
