"Do you have a license to use that thing?"
Dr. Benton Quest jumped at the sound of the woman's voice. "Excuse me?" He turned around and came face to face with a woman. A very attractive woman.
She smiled at the confused man. Quite a handsome man, too. "When I came into my office you were holding my spear that WAS hanging on my wall." She gently took it out of his hands and placed it back on the wall.
"Oh, sorry. Wait, this is YOUR office?"
"Well, my things are in here, so I assume it's mine."
"Ah, yes," he responded, slightly wary of her grin. "I'm sorry. I was looking for Dr. Morgan. I thought this was his office."
The smirk grew. "This IS the office of Dr. Morgan. Only, it's not HIS, it's HERS."
"You. you're Dr. Alex Morgan?
"And you are.?"
"I'm.Benton Quest. We've been corresponding. about your recent Anasazi excavations." I really wish she'd stop with that damn smirk! He thought, hoping the burning sensation on his face didn't necessarily mean he was blushing.
"Ah, Dr. Quest! It's so nice to finally meet you. Sorry to disappoint you, not being the man you were looking for.
"Oh, I'm not disappointed at all." His face grew even redder.
"Really?" She looked at him quizzically, one eyebrow raised. "You know, red really is your color, Dr. Quest."
Benton looked down at the floor, wishing it would swallow him then and there.
