Giles and Willow sat together in the camper, discussing the events of that
day a week before. The day they had saved the world.
"I'm worried about Xander and Buffy though." Willow said. "They both won't eat. I bought some chocolate chip cookies yesterday and Xander wouldn't touch them. And they were chocolate chip!"
"Give them time." Giles said, "They're still mourning. They'll be better soon."
"But if they don't eat they won't live to see soon!"
"Shh, you'll wake them up." Giles said, gesturing toward the two sleeping on the pullout couch.
"I'm just really glad we had enough money to buy this thing." Willow said, "If we had been in the bus."
"But we weren't." Giles said, "So let's just be glad most of them got out safely."
He looked at his watch. "Good Lord, it's nearly two. Come on, let's go to bed."
He switched off the light and they lay down in there spots on the floor. "I miss them." Willow said, "I know I would have always missed Anya but it never even occurred to me that she might die. But Spike. This time last year I would have been glad to see him die." A tear rolled down her cheek. "But now it's like."
"He was one of us." Giles finished. "And we won't forget him. Or Anya. Go to sleep Willow. Don't worry about Buffy or Xander. They'll be okay. Good night."
"Goodnight."
Willow rolled over and closed her eyes. In a few minutes she cried herself to sleep.
"They'll be okay, won't they Spike?"
Anya looked from the face of her sleeping love into Spike's.
"Of course he will." Spike said confidently, stroking Buffy's hair. She murmured and moved closer to him. "They'll be fine. It's like what Red and the old man were talking about."
He leaned in and kissed Buffy's forehead. "Sleep well love. Spike's here."
