Another day has come and gone,
And still I am alone.
The sun has rose and set again,
But I live where none dare go.
I watch the people mill about,
The children playing in the street,
But here I sit alone again,
In the dark and without heat.
I am a passing shadow,
A ghost that visits in the night.
All the people fear me,
Even when it's light.
But I am not a danger,
I leave them well alone.
I am the lonesome ranger,
Who treads where light has never shone.
Then I saved a little girl,
But the world will never know.
She alone did take my hand,
And helped me to my home.
