Kenzie-Just so everyone knows, even though 'I'm' telling this story, as you
can all tell, NONE of it is true except that Peggi is my inspiration to
write. I don't own any of the characters in this fic, and if my life or
any of my friends' lives were like the one in this story, I'd be really
happy. I have to give Peggi credit for most of this fic. She came up with
the title, plot, characters, names (including mine which I took from one of
her fics!) and allowed me to use her in this ficcy however I wanted. Oh,
and she helped me write when I had writer's-block. Thanks Peggi, cuz I
couldn't have done it without you!

My name, as far as you will need to know, is Kenzie. In my life, I have but two inspirations, muses, if you will. One of them is Peggi, a fellow authoress at this site. The other is the person who really owns 'copyrights' to this idea, which to say the least is sheer brilliance in itself. For you to understand my story further, you will need to know a little bit about me. Most think I am gothic, though I am nothing of the sort. I am usually shy, and prefer to be by myself. However, I was not always this way. The story of how one secret changed my life forever begins here.
I woke up from a nightmare with beads of sweat on my forehead and a chill running up and down my spine. I stared out the open window at the darkly lit night sky. I was somewhat disoriented, and I needed to give my heavy eyes some time to open. As I looked further I could see the thin top line of the sun peeping over the horizon. Dawn. My first dawn in this new house. The house my mother and I had moved into now that my father was dead. I laid my heavy head down on the feathery-soft pillow. I tried to get back to sleep, but I just couldn't. this time when I sat up, I was face to face with a girl. I screamed loudly as I stumbled out of bed and ran swiftly to my mothers' room to escape the 'ghost'. I had only seen her for a brief moment, but I knew she had long blond hair, green eyes, and a pale complexion. How I could see all of this in the semi-darkness was beyond me. And even stranger, a mystery which until recently was the greatest of all, though she hadn't spoken to me and I didn't know her, I knew her name. Dililah Parkington.
