Apology
Ron started off to the Gryffindor common room. Harry and Hermione lingered behind in the bathroom. Harry shoved his hands in his pockets and looked at the ground. Hermione bit her lip. Harry looked up.
"Look, Hermione, I'm sorry about what Ron said before," Harry apologized.
Hermione gave him a rare smile.
"It's okay, Harry," Hermione said calmly.
Harry looked down again.
"Thanks for rescuing me, Harry," Hermione said pleasantly, before leaning forward and kissing Harry on the lips lightly.
With that, she turned on her heel and left, leaving a stunned Harry behind in the bathroom. He stood there for a few minutes, dumbfounded, before starting off to the common room. But, before he left, he took a last look around the trashed bathroom.
It was an unspoken promise, but somehow, both eleven-year-olds knew never to mention this again. Though the memory was pleasant, and yet they would forget that it had ever happened. And from that moment on, they were the best of friends.
