FINAL FANTASY: GEMINI STRIFE
The Strife Family

Tifa Lockhart-Strife, wife of the legendary Cloud Strife, was in labor for twenty-three hours giving birth to twin sons. Cloud, who could not be with her in Neo Midgar, was off within the caverns of Mt. Nibel fighting the mythical Brimstone Weapon.

Tifa gave birth, on March 16, to two boys. She named them Zack (after Cloud's best friend) and Cid (after one of Cloud and Tifa's friends who died two years earlier). Tifa did not just pick the names; she and Cloud had been planning on what to name their children for a while.

On the other side of the world, Cloud Strife, Barret Wallace, Yuffie Kisaragi and Vincent Valentine were fighting the creature known as Brimstone Weapon. They had weakened the dark giant to a point where it was almost dead. The finishing blow was dealt by Vincent, a final shot through the skull.

After the battle, everyone was tired; everyone but Cloud. Cloud stood tall with that same determined look he always has behind those Mako green eyes. But he looked different this time. You would have too if you'd seen what he saw. As Brimstone Weapon fell, Cloud looked in its eyes and instead of seeing a reflection of himself he saw someone else. He saw Sephiroth.

Seventeen Years Later...

Cid and Zack woke up that morning to have their regular sparring session. They had both been training their whole lives with the two most powerful weapons in the world. Cid had the Ultima Weapon and Zack had the Masamune.

They fought a hard battle. This time they went all out. Summons, Magic, and Limit Breaks were all used. In the end Cid attacked using the technique Omni-Slash but Zack had used a different technique never used before, the Omega. The Ultima Weapon was torn from Cid's hands and Zack now possessed the two blades. Cid froze as Zack had taken the two blades and crossed them in a scissor-like way up to his throat.

Cloud saw this from across the room. The two teenagers didn't notice their father until Zack pulled back the swords and returned the Ultima Weapon to Cid. They looked to the side and saw him clapping. "Very good," said Cloud. "Yeah that was awesome Zack," agreed Cid. Cloud looked at Cid and said, "I wasn't just talking to him, I was talking to the both of you. A battle isn't only about winning or losing, it is about fighting honorably for something you believe in." Zack looks at his brother and says, "He's right, Bro. You fought well."

They all left and went to Neo-Midgar City Hall. The twins were seventeen; they were now old enough to sign up for the most elite fighting force on the planet, AVALANCHE.

After a couple of weeks, they went through basic training and advanced training. Afterwards they were given their assignments. Cid was stationed in Neo-Midgar as a part of the Municipal Guard. Zack was stationed in the tundra of the Northern Crater, as a part of a classified project.

On June 14, about two months after he had joined AVALANCHE, Zack was ready to depart for the Northern Crater. He hugged his mother and shook his father's hand. He said his last words to his brother, "If anything happens to me remember these three letters S-R-P and this word EXILE." Puzzled, Cid says, "I don't understand, but okay." Zack gave him a hug, they exchanged good-byes, and Zack boarded his flight on Highwind Airlines Flight Number 112. That was the last time Zack would see his mother and brother for three years; and the last time he would ever see his father.
