Summary: This is the dialogue between two people when the end is near…

Spoilers: After season 6 for BtVS. No particular time for HP. The two in the relationship are roughly the same age.

Notes: This is a response to Jinni's Uber-Quickie Challenge, but only in length (less than 300 words). Sad-fic.

"I loved you, you know."

"I know."

"I didn't mean to hurt you."

"I know."

"If there's anything… just ask."

"I know."

"Damn it, won't you say anything besides 'I know'?"

"I… no."

"Fine, then. I guess this is goodbye."

"Yeah."

"I'll see you around."

"No… you won't."

"What?"

"It hurts too much, to see you two together… I'm leaving."

"What? No! You can't."

"And whose going to stop me? You? You didn't care enough to stop me when I was going to destroy myself, to destroy everything! Why do you care now?"

"Because... I love you."

"No, you loved me. Once upon a time. When I was perfect and pure and innocent and naïve and a million other things... but now that you see flaws, now that I've been dark... and I've liked it... you're leaving. So I'm leaving."

"But you can't –"

"No, really, I can. And I am. Have fun with her. Be good to her. I was her, once upon a time. Don't break her like you broke me."

"I didn't break–"

"No, you didn't." She sighed. "But you were the reason I touched the Dark Arts. To understand what you were feeling. To help you get away from it." She paused, letting the silence hang heavy in the air, threatening to crush them. Unable to stand it any longer, she spoke again.

"No, you didn't break me. But you didn't help put me back together, either." Willow closed her eyes as a tear slid down her cheek. "Be careful, Draco. Remember, I was Ginny once..." Her hand brushed against his face fleetingly. "Don't let her become me."
