It was the summer before Harry's fifth year. He was spending as much time out of the house as possible to avoid Dudley's continuous blows. At the present Harry was sitting out in the lawn of 4 Privet Drive basking in the light of the setting sun and writing a letter to Sirius. He had just finished writing a letter to Dumbledore about the intense pain in his forehead. It had lasted longer than any before and his vision had gone blurry. Near the end he had fainted, but had neither heard nor seen anything after he had blacked out. He thought that Dumbledore would like to know that he had not seen anything.

Harry had already sent Hedwig with Dumbledore's letter. He decided that once Hedwig came back he would send Sirius' letter. His mind wandered to thinking about where his godfather was. Other thoughts were drifting into his mind like where Hagrid and Madam Maxime were, if Arabella Figg and his neighbor were related, and what Ron and Hermione were doing. As he sat there rereading his finished letter, he heard a big 'whoosh' from overhead Hedwig was back, but she had also brought a letter for him back.

Dear Harry,

I fear that because you didn't see anything this past time or the time before, Voldemort is fighting against the bond that binds you two. I was planning on writing to you anyhow even before Hedwig came. I need you to come to my office immediately. I mean immediately. You will be here for the rest of the year so pack up everything. Ron and Hermione too. I just sent letters to them, only they aren't coming til tomorrow. I want to talk to you first. Use the dial in this envelope. There is nothing extraordinary about it as it is a muggle dial. I have put an apparating charm on it that will take you to my office. Just say 'Apparati Dumbledore's office'.

Sincerely,
Albus Dumbledore

Harry quickly ran upstairs, avoided a blow by Dudley, and packed his things. He headed back downstairs, yelled "See you next summer" to his aunt and uncle in the next room over and scampered out the door before his aunt and uncle could say anything back. The door slammed behind him and he pulled out the dial. He knew that his aunt and uncle would kill him if they knew that he was performing magic outside their house, but he didn't care. "What if the neighbors saw?!?" his aunt would say. Harry walked to the street corner and then said the words, "Apparati Dumbledore's office."
