I finally decided to do a mini-expansion on the story... the world dot net girls and I are working on another probably BTVS one!
I finally reached her. Reached through
her. I could feel her again. I could feel every fear, every ambition, every sentiment and
doubt she expressed in the few seconds she was there with us.
I finally reached her again.
Now we were joined.
I blinked, turning my attention to the other women gathering around me.
"Do you think it was wise, giving her this power?"
"I have no doubt," I replied. "She is my amazon. She is
a warrior for the guardians now, and through her, we will change the world."
One of the women reached for me, touching my face. "You were once
small, a weak mortal among the billions. You have chosen to give our power to one who is
most powerful."
"I believe in her," I replied. "I love her."
"You helped her through your power," the woman said in
realization. "Through our power."
I blinked, trying to force the tears away. "Because I know she was
the only one to help us."
The woman smiled at me. "You have done this out of love."
"Always," I said, this time unable to let the tears flow.
"This way," the woman said, before stepping away from me,
along with the other women, "you can watch over her, Tara."
I had no doubt in my mind that I would ever stop.
