Title: Biblical sense
Author: Arabwel
Pairing: Seraph/Neo
Summary: Is fighting the only way of knowing someone?
Rating: G
Distribution: Archive freely, just drop me a note about it. Any mailing list I post this to gets automatic permission.
Warnings: Um, can't think of any besides "it's slash, folks!" and the fact that there is a wee bit of references to Christianity that someone could see as offensive.
Author's notes: I had this notion, "who is the fandom's slash-slut?" in the figurative sense, and started to think of all the pairings I have seen/can think of as feasible, and Neo came on top. One of the pairings on the list was Seraph/Neo, and this is the result seeing as it's boring at work right now. J Also, this is shortish. And screws a bit with the movie.
Dedication: To my wonderful friend Chevalier, who is a Retarded.. I mean Roman Catholic and disapproves of slash quite much, but is still one of my bestest friends. I suspect that if he reads this he and I shall have some niiice looong talks about the religious references in this one :D
Disclaimer: Do I look like a 30-something old Chicago-born movie director? No. Even with deceiving Residual Self Images, I am not one of the brothers W, so I do not own this. Do not Sue me! (Also includes Mary Sues…)
" No. You do not truly know someone until you fight them.."
The utter conviction in the voice of the Seraph made Neo pause. If that was true… he had never fought Trinity, and yet he was sure they knew each other… not only in the Biblical or the social sense, but truly knew.
"No." he said, his voice a bit hoarse. Why was his mouth suddenly dry? It had to be the fact that he was about to meet the Oracle… it could not be the… odd… look Seraph was now giving him. Questioning, that was what the look was.
"You can know someone by loving them." Neo continued, now on surer ground. He knew this. He didn't think so, he knew.
"Very well."
And with that, the Seraph was suddenly, without seeming to move at all, standing impossibly close to Neo, still smiling, moments before he planted his lips on Neo's.
The world seemed to dissolve and the entire universe pinpoint into that single point of contact, that single instance where their bodies met. The swirling code of the Matrix seemed to melt into mindless, unintelligible swirls as Neo was filled with the simple knowledge of knowing.
Suddenly, it all ended, and Neo flinched as the Seraph drew back.
"Whoa."
Neo blinked, as the Seraph smiled. "Yes… I believe I have gained new insight on this encounter. Come, she's waiting."
And with that, the Seraph motioned him to follow, giving Neo no time to say anyting abnout this… encounter.
Only when he was left to face the Oracle in the deserted yeard, did Neo raise his hand to touch his lips. He then suddenly recalled something…. wasn't "Seraph" some kind of an angel?
"This gives a new definition to 'know' in the Biblical sense," he remarked as he proceeded to approach the Oracle… there were far more important matters than soft lips that were not Trinity's to think about.
