A small boy sits in a dark, damp, dungeon-like area. He was wearing only a
few rags around his hips, his arms are held up by chains, and his ankles
are padlocked to the ground. The boy has red hair down to his chin, and he
sits there, tears rolling down his cheeks as his stomach growls in pain.
"Aww, now why'd they go an put a boy down here?" A skinny old man in the corner, chained down like the boy, was sitting down and staring at the young man.
The boy lifts up his head and opens his eyelids to reveal two black, bead-like eyes. A red-furred tail rises up behind him.
"Now that ain't right, just 'cause a boy 'as got a tail an' black eyes ain't no reason to lock'm up. I tell ya what, boy, I'll help you get out of this place, an' you go on to a place called Bayville, it's in the United States of America, you know where that is boy?"
The boy shakes his head.
"It's up North. Now, when ya see a tree, feel for an odd feelin, and head in that direction. Now, go straight north to a place called Bayville, an' look for a man called Xavier, ya understand?"
The boy nods, then looks up sadly at his chains.
"Don't ya worry 'bout those." The old man clasps his hands shut, and when he opens them, a crystal was there. The man tosses the crystal towards the boy, but before it got there, it burst into pieces and the boy closes his eyes and tries to covor as much of his body as he could. The shards missed the boy and cut off the chains and padlocks. The boy opens his eyes and lifts up his head again, he looks at his arms and legs before standing up in amazement. "Now 'member that trick, chances are ya won't ever see it again."
The boy runs up to a window, and is about to crawl out, but he stops. He turns around, walks up to the man, takes his hand and says, "Thank you."
The man wheezes a bit before coughing a few times. "Don't thank me, they shouln' be putting boys down here anaways."
The boy goes back to the window as the man starts coughing some more. He crawls outside and looks back, but the man's body had gone limp, his eyes were half-shut, and he wasn't moving.
The boy clasped his hands shut, and when he opened them, a large, glimmering crystal was there. He reached through the window, and tossed the crystal to the man. When the guards came into the prison to check on the prisoners, all they saw was the crystal ball.
