@@@@@@

A painful cry rang through Egypt, but only three people heard it. Blood was splattered onto the stone floor. Yami was thrown into his chamber. He rolled on his side two or three times before his back smashed into a pillar. Blood sprayed from his wounds. He lay motionless, waiting for his father to leave. The long cuts on his back bled like hell and stung like fire. Yami slowly rose to his feet, a little disoriented and lost. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and from his aching nose. He sat down on his bed and pulled his legs close to his chest, wrapping his arms around them.

If you are lost in your way

Deep in an awesome story

Yami tried not to cry. He was 15 damn it. He shouldn't be crying. He tried to convince himself of this, with only more tears streaming from his eyes. His cuts burned like fire and bled all over. Yami only winced in pain. He asked himself "why" over and over. But only the lonely silence answered him.

Don't be in doubt and stray

Cling to your lonesome folly

He was alone in this. His mother wouldn't believe him. She always sided with his father. Yami began to wish that he were dead. Death seemed to be the only way to escape. Egypt didn't need another one like him. It didn't need a pharaoh like him. He didn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Or so his father always said. Yami still had the scars.

Now you're too close to the pain

Let all the rain go further

Yami stood up and walked over to the grand stone balcony. He looked out at the world. That cursed world that didn't matter. The fall could kill him. Yami's eyes glanced at the bank of the Nile. When he was younger, he had seen 10 graves on the riverbank. 10 children denied eternal life. He wondered what happened to them. Maybe he should go too. He hopped onto the edge of the balcony, ready to leave the world behind.

Come back and kiss me in vain

Mother oh do not bother

Yami took one look back at the blood, and then he began to fall. He smiled weakly. He would leave. But someone darted out of the shadows and nearly leaped off the balcony after him, preventing his fall. He looked up to see a girl.

Hear the chorus of pain

Taking you back to proper ways

She pulled him up, white hair shining in the light of the crescent moon. Yami was confused. She stopped his suicide. He asked her why. The girl didn't respond at first. She tore a piece of the white sheet that was on Yami's bed. She told him to hold still while she poured a bit of water onto it. It smelled like incense. She placed the cloth on Yami's cuts.

It's so easy to find

If you could remind me

The girl explained. When she was 5, her family buried her alive on the banks of the Nile alongside her 9 older brothers and sister, all whom were dead. When she pulled herself out of her sandy grave, she saw Yami (roughly the same age) walking away with a tear in his eye. Yami said nothing.

Now you are lost in your way

Deep in an awesome story

As the two bid each other farewell, the girl gently kissed Yami on the forehead. Yami blushed. The girl kissed him on the nose, as gently and softly as before vanishing into the morning sun.

Yami didn't know that this girl was Anshi, the thief queen. In a few weeks, she would no longer be the kind, soft healer that he once knew. After she met Bakura, she would come. She would come to kill.

So I will find you again

Kiss you for lonesome folly
