Kierryan Naelowth
By Jameson Richard and Leafeye
There was a rustling sound in the branches of an oak tree. A young moon elf, Keirryan Naelowth, nocked an arrow to his bow at the sight of an elk. He drew the fletchings to his ear. Suddenly he heard the small sound of something moving stealthily through the bushes, chanting unknown words. A strange symbol appeared before Kierryan, overtaking him with fear. In a panic he released the arrow into the orbit of Faerune and fell, screaming as though a million daggers were stabbing into him, stabbing away consciousness . . .
It seemed as though his senses came back to him in a moments time. But what's this!?! He was on a stone floor!!! And he was unarmed!!! He then saw some drow beyond the adamantite bars of his cell, talking. Kierryan could understand some of what they were saying . "why.not kill...?" "..will ...strength" One of the drow whistled and up came an orc that was holding a whip. "You dumb elf go mines!! WORK!! NOW!!!!!!" Shrieked the fowl being. The enslaved elf scrambled to his feet, and was forced to let the orc drive him to the work area, where he started mining adamantite.
60 years later Kierryan had a smuggled shard of adamantite, sharpened to cut someone with the broad end. By then Kierryan had dozens of torture scars (thanks for nothing, torture loving drow!!!). He kept rags to bind his wounds. Over the years he had formulated a plan to escape. Now was the time to put his plan to action. As the orc came to take him to work Kierryan was crafting a handle for his dagger. Hey look! It's the orc! He's takin' a dirt nap! Kierryan sped down the hall, freeing other slaves. Almost instantly drow were on his tail (not that he had an actual tail, mind you). In a panic, he ran into a wall in a dead end, but he never felt the wall. He had to squint, the light of day nearly foreign to him (the drow did not follow follow because they are damaged by sunlight). He hurried to a building close by, which happened to belong to the mayor of Beregost. The adult moon elf hurried to the taylor to buy some new clothes. Kierryan decided to make the best of life and go to the tavern.
After buying and eating a loaf of bread he noticed a drow concealed by his cloak and gloves. Kierryan made an attempt towarn the innkeeper about the danger, but this was his response: "You pansy elf! You really think I'm stupid don't yee? BOUNCERS!!! Take this elven idiot and throw 'im out, would ya?" The dwarven innkeeper shouted. A couple of thuggish-looking humans came as though their minds were controlled by the dwarf. Kierryan could do nothing to escape as the brutes threw him out of the tavern and out came the drow and informed him "Nobody believes drow stories here, rat brain."
