Disclaimer: I don't own Sherlock Holmes. He belongs to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I just own Brianna.
Synopsis: The great great grandson of Sherlock Holmes moves to America to attend college. Once there, he learns that a young woman attending the same college drowned the day before his arrival. Can Sherlock Holmes II, who is as brilliant a detective as his ancestor was, solve the mystery?
Note: This story isn't based sorely on the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I've taken facts from "Young Sherlock Holmes", which is an excellent movie, the books by Laurie R. King which are the adventures of Holmes and Mary Russell-Holmes, his wife (even though I've only read the first one, which is "The Beekeeper's Apprentice", I know for a fact that they get married in the second book), and I've also taken a few liberties. One last thing before I let you get on to the story. I'm pretty sure that there isn't a WNC University for Science and the Arts. Seeing as I live in Western North Carolina, I'm 99% certain that there isn't one. But I'd rather not take any chances with that 1%, so I'm gonna go the safe route and say that I don't own it.

Prologue: The First Murder
Western North Carolina University for Science and the Arts
10:25 PM
Eighteen year old Jessica Hart walked silently down the hallway towards the on-campus swimming pool. It was against the rules to go swimming after 10:00 at night, but it wasn't the first time that she had broken that particular rule.
Finally, she reached the entrance, and, after glancing around to make sure that no one was there, slipped inside.
She quickly undressed in the locker room, not noticing that she was being watched. Jessica pulled her swimsuit on, and turned around. She immediately had to clap a hand over her mouth to keep from shrieking at the sight of the person standing a few feet away. As soon as she got over the initial shock, a furious look came over her face.
"What are you doing in here?" she demanded. Her eyes grew wide as, instead of answering, the figure stepped towards her. "Stay away from me!"
Jessica tried to turn and run, but was grabbed and yanked backwards. Before she could scream for help, a damp cloth was placed over her mouth and nose, held firmly in place. Within a matter of seconds, Jessica slipped into unconsciousness.
The figure put the chloroform rag away, and hoisted Jessica into his arms. Carrying her out of the locker room, he headed towards the pool, and stopped at the edge. He glanced down at her serene face, and raised a gloved hand, touching her cheek gently. She was so lovely, so innocent-looking.
She was going to pay dearly.
Without a second thought, he dumped her into the pool. Jessica bobbed at the surface for a few seconds before slowly sinking. Because of the effects of the chloroform, she wouldn't wake up for at least half an hour. But it didn't really matter, because she would be dead in less than a minute.
His self-appointed task complete, he turned and walked away.

A/N: Sorry for the short chapter, but I had to establish the first murder. Don't worry, Sherlock Holmes II makes his first appearance in chapter 1, which I will start working on as soon as I get this chapter posted. Anyhoo, please R&R, but if it's critiques instead of compliments, make 'em helpful. If you flame me senselessly, remember this: I have a roll of duct tape, a shovel, and a big backyard. You do the math.
