A/N: Okay, I typed this out in twenty min. It was fun to do and I
was just in one of those moods. Thanks to Drummer for pushing me to do it(
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or any of the characters in the books, and I don't own Billy Joel's song either.
Ron couldn't believe what he was doing. He was going up to Her. Blaise Zabini. His crush for six months. An entire six months out of his life. If he didn't ask her out by the end of the school year, he never would.
She can kill with a smile, she can wound with her eyes
She can ruin your faith with her casual lies
And she only reveals what she wants you to see
She hides like a child, but she's always a woman to me
"Um, excuse me, Blaise?"
She whirled around from where she was talking with her friends. Her blonde hair falling gracefully over her shoulder. "Yes?"
"I was wondering if you had a date for the ball on Friday night." He looked down at his feet. Her piercing blue eyes were so hard to look into. "And if you didn't, I was wondering if you would go with me."
"Well, I'll have to check." Her cold gaze left him to watch Draco Malfoy walking out the doorway with his girlfriend. "Actually, Ron, I'd love to go with you."
She can lead you to love She can take you or leave you
She can ask for the truth, but she'll never believe
And she'll take what you give her as long as it's free
She steals like a thief but she's always a woman to me
The night of the ball came up, and Ron was happier than ever, having Blaise on his arm. He danced with her and had a marvelous time. He just didn't notice her eyes following his rival.
Ohhh, She takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants, she's ahead of her time
Ohhh, and she never gives out and she never gives in, she just changes her mind
Ron walked her to the stairs after the dance. "I had a great time tonight, Blaise."
Blaise smiled at him and was about to answer when someone passed in between the couple. Draco smirked and winked at Blaise, just before he sauntered off down the hallway. She gaped as the blonde figure walked off down the hallway, but quickly regained a straight face. "I had a lovely time, Ron." She reached out and shook his hand before running after Malfoy. Ron stood and looked after her.
And she'll promise you more than the Garden of Eden Then she'll carelessly cut you and laugh while you're bleeding But she brings out the best and the worst you can be Blame it all on yourself, 'cause she's always a woman to me
She didn't speak to Ron the next day or the next week, for that matter. Ron just sat and watched her gawk after Malfoy. Why hadn't he seen it before?
She's frequently kind and she's suddenly cruel She can do as she pleases, she's nobody's fool But she can't be convinced, she's earned her degree And the most she will do is throw shadows at you, But she's always a woman to me.
Ron looked across the Great Hall one month after the ball. He wouldn't just let Malfoy win them all. This would not be the end.
