Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters, never will, so stop bugging me. ;-)
Summary: Paige decides to try out the Internet. What does it have in store for her?
Author's Note: I'm not going to update until I get a review! So na nanana na!
Paige Matthews sat down at her computer she had bought several weeks ago and logged onto the Internet for the first time. It had taken about nine days for her older half-sister Phoebe Halliwell to teach her how to even turn the laptop on, for Paige was a complete novice when it came to anything as technical as a computer. But she had learnt, slowly, how to create basic things like a word document, and play Tetris – now the redhead was ready for the Big Bad Web, as Phoebe referred to it.
"Home page?" Paige frowned at the screen. "Um… okay… no idea."
"What do you want to look for?" Phoebe asked from the doorway, a piece of toast in her hand dripping butter on the carpet. Paige glanced up and shrugged.
"I don't know, something interesting."
Phoebe sniggered. "Interesting? Paige, the Internet is like – all interesting. You need to give me something more specific."
"Okay, what's the thing you do – talk to other people?"
"First of all, it's called chat rooms, or Messenger." Phoebe sat down on the edge of Paige's bed. "Do you want to talk to a lot of people at the same time, or just one?"
"I don't know!" Paige said exasperatedly. "I don't know any people on the Big Bad Web, so how can I talk to lots of them?"
"You have to *meet* them first." Phoebe rolled her eyes. "Boy, do you have a lot to learn."
"Yeah, yeah, I know, no need to rub it in." Paige glared. "Just give me the freaking chat room address and leave me 'lone."
"Ooh, touchy." Phoebe snorted with laughter, getting to her feet, reaching over Paige's shoulder and tapping in an address in the toolbar with such speed that her fingers were a blur to Paige. "There you go. You can figure it out on your own."
"Wait…!" Paige called as Phoebe started out the room.
"Sign in." Phoebe replied, closing the door behind her. Paige frowned at the screen once more.
"Sign in… okay… that button."
The screen went blank. Paige swore. "Damn. I might as well send this stupid thing back now."
Phoebe poked her head around the door. "Just do what you did before, only this time press the sign in button rather than the off button, okay?" The door shut again. Paige pulled a face at the wall and sighed resignedly before turning her computer back on.
