Tuesday

"Virginia Weasley!" a voice called. The Great Hall fell quiet, for nobody had expected Ginny to try out.

Ginny walked to the stage. She could feel her face burning. All eyes fell on her as the music began to play. And Ginny sang as she never had before.

"When all the world is a hopeless jumble and the raindrops tumble all around, Heaven opens a magic lane."

Many thoughts rushed through her head as she sang.

"When all the clouds darken up the skyway, there's a rainbow highway to be found. Leading from your window pane, to a place behind the sun, just a step beyond the rain!"

Mouths dropped open. The director, Maureen Chang, also Cho's mother, did not tell Ginny to stop. No one could.

"Somewhere over the rainbow way up high, there's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby. Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true."

"Some day I'll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me! Where troubles melt like lemon drops away above the chimney tops! That's where you'll find me!"

"Somewhere over the rainbow blue birds fly. Birds fly over the rainbow, why then, oh why can't I."

"If happy little bluebird fly beyond the rainbow, why, oh why can't I?"

The students remained quiet.
