Reflecting
Summary: She remembered when there had been laughter, and she remembered when it had fallen apart. [[Non-shipper fic]]
Her footsteps were hollow on the ground, and her eyes emotionless, as she entered a forgotten world through ripped gates.
Tears pricked behind her eyelids as she overlooked the state of the area. Everything was so dark, so cold, and so. quiet.
This wasn't how it was supposed to be. There was supposed to be talking, laughing, and reminiscing about things that had been. Not this silence that over loomed the dark buildings.
She remembered when this world had been filled with sounds and noises. And how that had been torn apart by wars and misunderstandings. And finally, she remembered the people she'd known.
They had all shared one thing in common, which was their love for the world they lived in. But, even their love had turned into anger, as they'd turned against each other. The beautiful companionships had been broken, and they'd fought till they had gotten enough. A fight of fury and anger.
A fight that should have never been there. They should have sticked together, so that they could have fought the real shadows. And not each other, as they had done out of foolishness.
Oh yes, she knew she'd played a role in the fights. But she hadn't looked at the consequences, never knowing that a once so beautiful world, which they had worked so hard for, could scatter apart because of the foolishness that she and the others had brought.
And so she wept, as her memory brought up reflections of the beautiful, but now broken world that lay in between the gates.
