How to Make a Crow Movie
By Wicked Lady
Chapter One: So You Want to Make a Crow Movie
Step 1 in making a Crow movie is making your Crow. Your Crow must have a tragic past, an elaborate death scene, a loved one who died as well in said death scene, and a four letter name.
Now that you have your Crow, your Crow needs a background. No Crow in complete without a reason for being killed! Your Crow and your Crow's loved one can't be killed by some silly drive-by shooting with impartial killers. No, there must be a reason. As shown in The Crow, The Crow: City of Angels, and The Crow: Salvation, that reason doesn't have to be a very good one. It could be anything from sneezing during a speech to putting a stop to the end of the world.
No background 'Reason for Death' is going to float unless you have your bad guys. Crow Villains are single gendered teams of five with a sixth member of the other gender. Villain Teams have a clear system. First you need a Leader. The leader is the main villain and the one behind your Crow's death. The Leader will likely have an implied relationship the sixth member. The sixth member will not serve any real purpose. With the leader and sixth member out of the way, you need four Lacky Villains. Lacky Villains are the ones who do the dirty job of killing your Crow and Crow's Loved One. Lacky Villains should be easy for your Crow to kill and they, as well as the sixth member, must always be killed before the Leader Villain. If you would like to add more drama, you may add a seventh Villain. Like the sixth member, your seventh member must also be killed before the leader. It is best that you don't use a seventh member unless your Crow gets aid from the Skull Cowboy. This leaves the leader with no one to avenge their death.
With your Crow, background, and Villains all set, you need a Love Interest. In truth, your Crow and Love Interest don't need to be in love with each other, it can be one sided. In The Crow Sarah had a crush on Eric, but her love was not returned, the same for The Crow: Salvation.
Now you need a helpful friend. The Helpful Friend doesn't need to be very helpful in battle or even in plot. The Helpful Friend does, however, need to help your Crow in some way. They could give clues, lie about knowing where your Crow is, or aid to the kick butt fighting. Though the Helpful Friend doesn't need to be the Crow's friend, it is preferred.
Once the plot is done and all characters have lived their purpose, your Crow needs a happy ending. The happy ending could have your Crow going to Heaven to join their Loved One, you could also end with your Crow staying on Earth to help others. If you prefer a sad ending, make sure that your story ends with a sulking [or brooding if you prefer] Crow vowing to never let such a fate happen to anyone else.
Congratulations! You now have an easy to follow guide to make your own Crow Movie! All you need now need to write it up and give it a name. Be sure that your name has not already been used.
