"Daddy, where is Mommy's head? Daddy?"

A small voice whined in his head like an annoying fly. John waved his hand as if trying to swat it away. Then the earth shook bringing him further out from his deep sleep. 'No, please it's to early.'

"Daddy, Mommy lost her head? I see her body under the cover but her head is gone."

Opening one eyelid John could make out the blurry image of a short alien. 'God it was to early.'

He mumbled, "What? ...it's to early to be invaded...go back to bed."

He let the lid drop back down, only to have it pride back open by the same short alien. Its voice grew louder. "Daddy, where did you put Mommy's head?"

"It's on the pillow behind me. Why?"

"We got a surprise for her. It's not there. What did you do with Mommy's head?"

Another voice cut over the whining one. John's brain for some reason just didn't want to work. Could it be the fact he had only been a sleep for the past two arns? He found his world had gone completely dark as the short alien let his eyelid go. 'Good now he could go back to sleep.'

"Ian, let Daddy sleep. I found Mommy's head. Look it's here under the cover at the foot of the bed."

"Why is it doing down there?"

"I don't know. Come on, Mommy, we have a surprise for you."

"Mommy, waky, waky. You have to eat our surprise for you on Mommy's Day."

"Ian, don't tell, let her see. Come on, Mommy."

John started to let sleep over take him when the conversation finely penetrated his tired mind. 'Mommy's head missing...surprise for her...lost...found...' Raised voices danced around him as the earth moved again. Rolling over he saw Aeryn sitting at the foot of the bed with a tray balanced beside her. The children where dancing around singing.

"Happy...happy Mommy Day to you! Happy ...happy Mommy Day to you!"

Sighing he let his head fall back onto the pillow. 'Frell it was Mother's Day and he forgot.' Rolling his head back toward them, he watched Aeryn attentively take a bit of the food. A smile appeared upon her face as she took a larger portion.

"Happy Mommy Day to you...we love you on Mommy Day...all cycle long. " Aeryanna and Ian finished with a wet kisses on each of Aeryn's cheeks.

"I love both of you too." She said, kissing them in return.

John leaned back with a knowing smile. 'And she worried she wouldn't make a good mother...'

Clearing his throat he song out. "Happy...happy Mommy's Day, babe. I love you too."

Aeryn cut an eye back at John; a mischievous smile came on her face. "Oh, wait till I teach the children about Daddy's day."
