Bubbles of Destiny
Hello arkies. This fic is inspired by Fiori, a kick ass Sailor Moon character. I had the first inspiration for this fic, when I watched a Sailor Moon movie with Fiori in it. I felt so bad for him that I ACTUALLY CRIED!! Cried people, cried...I still get made fun of it for it to this day... although that may be because it was only last week. Shrugs shoulders oh well, on with the fic, enjoy!
Prolog(Prolog)
Two little boys stood face to face on the roof of a skyscraper. It seemed the building might live up to it's name. Might actually touch the creamy yellows, fiery reds, and brilliant oranges that smeared the heavens above. The sky looked like a painting, when the artist is sad and suffering, but still celebrating the beauty of life on this earth.
One boy, a toe headed, fair skinned, slanted eyed, eight year old, looked at his companion with sad but reassuring eyes. The other child, was dark haired, with doleful, chocolate eyes that looked like a deer when it's peaceful. He reached into his worn, navy coat, and pulled out a single blossom. A red rose that stood like blood against the burning sky.
The first child looked at the gift with awe, before taking it gently, and sniffing it's wafting fragrances. The child with the hair like midnight, looked at the pebbled rooftop under his feet, to hide his pouring tears. When his gaze again found the face of his friend, he discovered him changed. As he was on the day the opaque headed boy stumbled upon him in the rain. The first boy's sandy hair had transformed to a minty green. Long and layered it feathered down his back, to reach clothes not of this galaxy. Between two fusha streaks, his eyes of darkest brown were no longer out of place. They fit his tallow green skin like they were meant to be there. This was his true form.
"This is the nicest gift anyone has ever given me, " the forest child said earnestly. "One day. I'll come back with flowers for you, Darien. I promise," was his vow.
"Why do you have to go away, Fiori?" asked Darien already knowing the answer.
"You know why, I'll die if I stay here," was the somber reply. "But remember... I promised." With that, the boy of cheerful green disappeared in a shower of sparkles.
"NO! FIORI!" Darien screamed, knowing his friend was gone. That no amount of running, yelling, calling, or crying was going to bring him back. Darien sat alone, remembering times they had shared: bumbling onto that universal child while walking from the shrine to the orphanage, where he lived. Being his friend, even when nobody else would. Sharing secrets, becoming brothers........
One little boy is on his knees, praying to God to see his friend again. The sun is almost set, and fading into gray. While day takes off her dress of light, night dons her somber crown of glory. As the sky turns to purple and blue, darkness and moonlight; the dieing rays of sun capture the scattered glitter on the rooftop. From above, it looks like the sobbing child on top of a sky scrapper is surrounded by starlight: the light of love, and a promise to return.
