The wind continued to grow in intensity as it blew across the forlorn
continent of El. Claude, Rena, Dias, Celine, and Ashton trekked across the
brown soil, their silence a tribute to those who had fallen just a few
hours before.
However, Claude could not take it anymore. His anger could not be contained any longer. "Dias, this is all your fault, you hear me?!"
The sudden outburst shocked everyone quite a bit, except for Dias. He stood at the back of the group, the same emotionless expression present on his face that had been there when he first joined up.
Celine walked up to Claude and put her hand on his forehead. "Claude darling, are you alright? Perhaps this heat is getting to you..."
Claude slapped Celine's hand away and drew his sword, glaring at Dias. "Shut up! This all his fault we are stuck here!" Claude charged Dias, who in defense, just sidestepped and let Claude pass by.
"Claude, what are you talking about? It was a unanimous agreement that we come to El on Lacour's fleet," Rena stated. Claude, however, didn't seem to hear as he turned around and ran at Dias once again. Claude raised his Marvel Sword high above himself and brought it down on Dias. With his superior speed, Dias had withdrawn his Crimson Diablos to block the strike.
"Grr...Shooting Star!" Releasing his grip on the Marvel Sword with one hand, Claude decked Dias, the energy from the punch sending him flying back about six feet. Dias slowly stood to his feet, a small stream of blood trickling from his mouth. Claude, obviously, had a triumphant look on his face. Dias, however, did not.
"You want to play little boy? Fine, no holding back this time!" Dias charged Claude with amazing speed. Before Claude could even register what was going on, Dias was upon him.
"Crescent Wave!" In one swift motion, Dias slashed his sword upward, creating a wave of energy that hit Claude head on, sending him flying into the air. Dias jumped up after Claude, a fiery aura already starting to surround him.
"Firebird Shockwave!" Dias completely outstretched his body. Flames seemed to sprout up out of thin air and snake their way along his body until he was completely encompassed. Rena and Celine couldn't help but stare in awe at the beutiful image of the Phoenix. With a cry of fury, the fiery bird flew at Claude and quickly overtook him, encompassing him as well. In an instant, it was over. The Phoenix had crashed itself into the ground. The night sky was lit up by a brilliant orange by the ensueing explosion.
Rena and Celine, now fully aware of what had happened, ran as fast as they could to the epicenter of the explosion. As they arrived, what they saw horrified them. The land was burned beyond recognition. Dias stood a few feet away from a small crater. Rena ran to the crater and to her dismay, found Claude lying down unconscious.
