Disclaimer: I forgot to put this in chapter 1, so I'll put it here. I do
not own any characters in this story except for Alexa Gillingham and her
family. Please R/R my story. Thanks so much!
The school, as I said before, was pretty much brand-new. I had transferred from a chi-chi NYC private school (Abigail Adams Academy) that had been around for centuries, and I marveled at Degrassi's technological gadgets and shiny lockers, which were so different from my ancient surroundings before. I shook my head, clearing the images of Adams from my mind and tried to focus on finding the school office to register. I charged down the hallways with a fashion runway stride, my blonde hair flying behind me.
The office was easy enough to find, and as I poked my head inside I saw what looked like a TV anchor's desk, with a video camera facing it. I took a few steps toward it, and began inspecting my new discovery.
"Ahem!" I froze, and looked up to find a middle-aged bearded man staring at me. "Pretty neat, isn't it?" he asked, smiling.
"Well, yeah-but I don't know what it is." I looked away sheepishly, as he chuckled lightly.
"I'll bet you're new, yes?" I nodded. "Welcome. I'll bet you didn't have this at your old school, eh? This," he said, "is where a Student Council representative makes the morning announcements."
"What?!" It was too cool. I had never heard of a student making the announcements before, let alone on a TV screen. "No P.A. system? No intercom?"
"No, I'm afraid not. Degrassi is a very modern school. When we re- built it, we tried to incorporate as much new-age technology into the education as we could."
