Walker, Texas Ranger: "Skipping Dinner Not Allowed"
Late one night, Alex came home to her apartment, tired, and already half asleep. She couldn't wait to get into bed and fall asleep under the warm covers. She had completely skipped dinner at CD's earlier because she had not been very hungry at all. She had lost one of her most important cases that day and she was very upset about it, though right now, all she really wanted was to go to bed. When she opened the door, she jumped. Someone was sitting on her couch.
"Walker, what are you doing here?" she asked.
"Guess," he said.
"I'm in no mood to guess right now, Walker. Just tell me."
"What's wrong?" he asked, getting up and walking over to her.
"You know I lost that case today."
"Alex, forget the case. You're life's not going to end."
"You know what's going to happen. That maniac killer is going to be set free. THEN who knows what's going to happen."
"Forget the case."
"Look, I don't really want to be talking to you right now, OK?"
"Well, you've got a problem then, don't you?"
Alex began to smell something. She sniffed the air. "What do I smell?"
"YOUR dinner. You didn't eat anything at CD's so you're going to eat something now."
"I'm tired not hungry. I want to sleep."
"Well, you're going to eat first. Then you can sleep."
"Fine. What did you make?"
"Well..it's not much but..cheese, ham, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, and a little mayonnaise on rye bread."
"Oh yeah, that's right you can't cook, I forgot. But you do make good sandwiches."
After she ate, they sat on the couch and talked about the case for a short while until Alex's eyes began to close as she rested her head on Walker's shoulder. "I think they should have a..."
"Alex...Alex?" he whispered softly into her ear.
When she didn't respond he picked her up and took her to bed before he left her apartment satisfied that everything was OK.
