We can never get back to before
A/N: I wrote this ages ago but it's kind of nice. It's one shot, about Cloud's thoughts about Aerith.
~Straight on this long, continuing road
He didn't know how or why but he found himself walking in the dirty Slums of Midgar. As he walked on he could see the children running in the streets laughing in their ragged clothes. It was like he was taken there by some kind of magnet....it was like a dream. He could smell the scented flowers that came from inside the church. He closed his eyes and remembered that day....it seemed like yesterday.
~there is surely something to believe in
He still see her face peering at him with curiousity. He could still remember her voice....her sweet tone.....which had a kind of melody in it and her giggle which sounded tinkling in the dim dark church lighting it up with her smile.
~like a traveler in the midst of the wind
He closed his eyes as he entered inside....with that strange feeling deep inside him. As he walked in he was half hoped she would be there, kneeling down on the floor looking at the ground with her green miscievous eyes looking intently at the flowers as she was taking care of the flowers.
~I have my eyes on the northern sky
He sat down and looked around the church and smiled slighlty. Inside he could feel a strange feeling. This place had her memories enclosed here. He could see her kneeling down and taking care of the flowers and smiling as she watched the flowers grow in delight and he still remember how her face brightened up when the kids came to see the flowers and he could still hear the kids laugh and giggle with the sight of flowers. She was always happy and with her smile she could brighten up a whole place.
~the passionate feelings that were beginning to vanish
He kneeled down on the ground and stared at the ground and fingered a small flower and looked at the patterns of its petals and and a wave of realisation hit him as he picked up the flower and smelt its fragrance that it reminded him of her.
~once again sway in radiance in my chest
A slight smile formed in his face as memories of her seemed to return to him...memories which he had tried so hard to bury in himself those memories of her that brought joy to all the persons she met in the past. It seemed that she had a kind of ability to make people adore her with her ways and how she acted. She was a special person whom filled everyone's heart with joy.
~I don't want the tears to spill
Yet....it was painful to remember of her because he still felt guilty for letting her go that easilly without trying to do anything and knowing that he'll never see her again was very painful to himself and to the rest of the group in which they travelled with. He gave a low growl as he felt a tear fall down his face and he rubbed it away quickly feeling angry with himself.
~as so not to lose to my weaker self
He stood up with the flower still in his hand and sighed looking at the floor he walked out of the church slowly trying to keep a bold face and he took a final glance at the church as a slight smile formed in his face he walked out dragging his feet slowly away.
~in eyes holding only an unadorned spirit
~there are great, unseen wings
~I open my arms while singing
~to embrace the perpetuity of time
~to be tied to life
~straight on this long, continuing road
~there is surely something to believe in
Walking down the path out of Midgar he felt strangely peaceful in his heart . He looked at the sky while noticing that the sun was setting just like when life ends, the sun sets... in it's fading reddish colours which make the sky look undescriptively beautiful, fading to darkness...
