Daytime of the Fallen Night: Dark Destiny
Intro: Fated to Fall
Ryou sighed from the couch. His eyes followed character after interesting character strolling through the mansion. His father was throwing a party because of the success of the success they were having at the Egyptian dig. Many were museum workers and archeologists, but some were randomly summoned. The call list was long, but no one got in uninvited. Or so everyone thought, save one. An unnaturally pale boy smirked, scraping his tongue against the roof of his mouth slowly, then swiping at his canines sharply, ripping the skin and sucking on his blood. He knew the killer of the woman who had lived here, the mother of the skinny, English boy hidden in the corner watching the party with clouded, uninteresting eyes; the boy that knew nothing of the other world yet. The prey.
[Ryou's POV]
This is so boring. I can't believe father actually made me come down here. At least if there was someone my age at these functions once in a while, it might be interesting. I watched him, my father, walk by, merrily waving his arm above his worker's shoulder, swinging a glass of wine around with the other hand. I rolled my eyes, sighing, and looked away. Father's always getting drunk on these occasions, he only embarrasses himself. I thought I saw a flash and turned to look at a dark corner. I frowned, there appears to be nothing there. Narrowing my eyes, I tried seeing into the darkness. I was always exceptionally good at seeing in the dark. There still appeared to be nothing there, but I swear there'd been movement. Hum…oh well. I closed my eyes and settled deeper into the couch.
[Bakura's POV]
Mmm…the kid's looking over here. Kid…funny, I'm actually his age, I guess. Well, I've been his age for 3000 years. I can feel my face twist in the smirk that scares most of those like me. That wouldn't make me his age, would it? No, I think not. But, he doesn't know that, does he? Now. Which approach should I take? Should I use long lost brother or extravagant, entertaining presence ready to love? Second, I think.
