"So, uh, what did you wish for?" Tony playfully elbowed Angela in the
side, realizing they were sitting really quite close to one another.
"I can't tell you-it won't come true if I do." She grinned, before returning her eyes to her hands, making a mental note that she needed a manicure.
"But maybe I can help it come true-maybe the birthday fairy needs help on delivering whatever it is to you."
He really was trying, and he had to admit, it was partially true. If he could make her wish come true, he would do whatever it would take to fulfill it.
"That's true," Angela agreed, wondering if she really did want to tell him. "Have all of your birthday wishes come true?"
Tony thought seriously for a minute. "Not all," he admitted, "but most."
"Which ones didn't come true?"
"The year after Marie died; I asked to bring her back so I wouldn't be so lonely, and so Sam would have a mother." He smiled at her warmly. "But then we moved here, so I guess in a way, that wish did come true."
She offered him a kind and gentle smile. "I once wished that I could fit in. I was 17, overweight, gawky. I just wanted to be pretty and date. Not even necessarily the cool guys. Any guys would have done."
"Well, you are beyond beautiful now, and you have powerful, handsome men who want to date you. I guess that wish came true as well."
Angela looked up at him hopefully. "Do you think all wishes will eventually come true?"
"Yeah, I think so-I guess they never really expire. If you're not really specific when you make the wish, you have to wait until fate decides it's time."
"Good," Angela said, her spirits rose after the day's somewhat embarrassing events.
"So are you going to tell me?"
"What," she asked coyly.
"Your wish!"
"Oh.yeah. Well, I guess it can't hurt," she decided, before leaning in and pressing the slowest, most tender kiss to his lips. After a moment, she felt him respond, and she intensified the kiss. Several minutes later, they separated, their lips swollen from the intensely passionate kiss.
"You were right," she said in a low, sultry voice.
"Huh?" Tony watched her lips move, but all he could think about was how she tasted. His hands had rested tenderly on her lap, and all he could think about was kissing her again.
"You were right. You could help my wish come true." When he continued to stare absently at her, she laughed. "I wished that when I'd kiss you, you'd kiss me back."
"Well," he said with a mischievous grin, "are there any other wishes.or.uh.fantasies that I can help you fulfill?"
"I might be able to think of a few," Angela teased, as she moved in closer again, before stopping within inches of his face.
"Happy birthday Angela." Closing the space between them, he wrapped his arms around her before kissing her again.
