Harry Potter and the tears Unshed
By Fern Eckerson
A boy of 16 lay in bed half asleep. He lay there staring at the ceiling, listening to the birds outside his small window. His mind was full of thoughts, full of theories, full of questions, full of fears.
He was confused. He didn't know anything that was happening, like last summer. He only knew what Dumbledore had told him so that Harry wouldn't do anything "drastic and stupid" as he had put it.
"Harry, you must take caution. Who knows what could be waiting out there to just catch you when you are off your guard! So Harry, you must never be off your guard! Stay at home Harry, you will be safest there!" was what Remus had said the last time he sent an owl to Harry.
So Harry just tried to stay out of the Dursleys way and do his own thing for the summer. He just studied and waited for the time when Dumbledore said he could go see Ron and Hermione.
Harry loathed being left alone at the Dursleys. He was left to devour all sorts of morbid thoughts about everything. About the war. About Voldemort. About his godfather, Sirius. How he, Harry, could have saved his life.
Now, we all know that there was nothing Harry could have done about the death of his godfather, but this is Harry Potter our favorite teenager. What would you expect him to do, forget about it? I think not. So here we are with Harry wallowing in his own sorrow when there is a hard knock on his door.
"BOOOY! There is one of you psycho friends here to see you! Get down here before he starts to dirty my floor!" came the nasty yell of his aunt Petunia.
Harry opened the door nearly smacking his Aunt in the face "sorry auntie!" he whispered.
"Hello Harry!" Came the voice of Remus Lupin "it is great to see you again!"
Harry took one look at his father's old friend and began to sob. He sobbed for his parents. He sobbed for Cedric. He sobbed for his godfather. He plain sobbed for everyone! He just sat down on the bottom step of the Dursleys house and cried until he heard a mocking sound from his cousin Dudley.
"OY! Potters a pretty little guy isn't he mum! Very pretty indeed! Where's your boyfriend Harry? IS THIS YOUR BOYFRIEND? This old freak? Well you better go and see all you freaky little boyfriends and LEAVE US BE!" Dudley had become a nasty little bastard in the past month.
Through all this time, Remus just stared at Harry. When Harry started to stop crying he began to smile, and Harry could tell that it was the first time he had smiled in a while.
"Well, why don't you get packing Harry, I am going to take you home!" Harry looked at Remus and smiled back. At least he wouldn't be stuck here all summer and he could see all his friends even if there was no Sirius to keep him company.
So Harry ran upstairs. He threw everything on the floor in his trunk and everything in his trunk deeper into his truck. He locked it shut and threw on a jacket. He took one deep breath and readied himself to enter the Wizarding world again.
'I am ready Remus!" Harry yelled as he pulled the trunk down the stairs.
"Here, I'll help you with that!" and Remus made his trunk follow him as they walked out the door and out onto the early morning street as if everything was totally normal. But we are all deceived. IT WASN'T NORMAL!
(a/n: ok, so that was my first chapter! I hoped you liked it. It should be pretty good, hopefully. It is pretty much my first fic! LOVE YOU ALL! Please read and review! Thank you!)
