My Immortal I'm so tired of being here, Suppressed by all my childish fears…

Christine held her dying Angel in her arms. She cried softly, knowing that he was slipping away from her. She wanted to hold on to the last few moments he had left.

And if you have to leave,

I wish that you would just leave,

Cause your presence still lingers here

And it won't leave me alone

She had decided to stay at the opera, she had made her choice, and now her choice was slowly sinking into eternal darkness…

These wounds won't seem to heal

This pain is just too real

There's just too much that time can not erase…

As the candles began to lose their light, Christine reminisced about all the times they had shared together. All the music, all the dreams, all the tears. They were all ending and soon she would be alone.

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears

When you scream I'd fight away all of your fears

And I held your hand through all of these years

But you still have all of me…

Tears streamed down Christine's face. Tears of regret, for all the times she had hurt her Angel. Tears of joy, from all the happy memories. Tears of sorrow, for now she had to let him go. She prayed over him, that his soul not be lost to the salvation he so deserved as he let out his last living breath…"I love you, Erik." She said softly, "Goodbye my Angel."

You used to captivate me by your resonating mind

Now I'm bound by the life you left behind

Your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams

Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me…

She wanted to die. Christine had lost the one thing she was living for; her Angel was gone. She could not sleep; all she saw and heard in her dreams was her Angel. She ate very little and soon her reflection became that of what Erik looked like before he passed on; a walking skeleton, death itself.

These wounds won't seem to heal

This pain is just too real

There's just too much that time can not erase

Her weak body lay dying on her bed in Erik's lair. Christine never left the catacombs since the day he died. She lay in her bed sobbing, waiting for God to call her home. She could bear the heartache of being without her beloved any longer.

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears

When you scream I'd fight away all of your fears

And I held your hand through all of these years

But you still have all of me…

Erik had always been with her after his death, but life was not the same, she was still alone. She stared up at the ceiling, her breathing weak. Had it been weeks? Months? Time had lost it's meaning. Soon a bright light shone in her eyes as an Angel appeared before her, "Do not be afraid, Christine, for I have come to take you home."

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone

But though you're still with me

I've been alone all along…

Erik smiled at her as her soul soared toward him and left her body a lifeless shell. With his magnificent wings wrapping around her, drawing her up to the heavens she smiled up at him, for now she was home.
