Disclaimer: I own nothing. Not a thing. Zilch!

Summary: This is written from Sam's point of view as Frodo says Goodbye. He remembers all the times they have been through over the past year and knows he will never forget Frodo.

Authors note: Hi. This is my first Frodo and Sam poem so please please be kind. I actually sat down to write another one of my Legolas poems but this appeared instead. I wasn't going to post it because I actually didn't think it was that good but MichelleFrodo read it and said she liked it so you can all blame her if it's as bad as I thought.

Always beside you

We set off on this journey together

And though I promised you my company

The outcome we did not know

You were given the task if bearing the ring

As we sat at the council of Elrond

And when I said I was coming too

They knew none could break our bond

After the attack of Uruk-hai near the shore

You wanted to go without me

But as I watched you sail off in your boat

I just could not let that be

As we made our way over rocks and boulders

And hills at the highest peak

You trusted Gollum to lead us the way

Though I told you he was a sneak

I was right when later he led us

Into Shelobs den

And thought I fought Shelob and her ways

I thought I'd lost you then

I came to rescue you as naked you lay

In the Orcs tight clutch

And after clothing you and feeding you well

There is no hope left, I know that much

But on we trudge, alone and afraid

Never wanting to give up

And hungry and tired it is Gollum that finds us

Which is just our luck

And on top of that cold and lonely mountain

You could not get rid of that thing

Yet it was Gollum that bit off your finger

And falling, destroyed the one ring

At last, home to the Shire we returned

And when everything had settled down

You became troubled and haunted by the ring

And I knew, leaving, eventually you were bound

I stand here now and say goodbye

Having been split from my friend

But I know in my heart as your memory lives on

I know this is not the end.

So was MichelleFrodo right? Or was I right? Whatever you thought of this poem please let me know in a review. I would like to know honestly what you all think of it. Thanks.
