I heard you're doing okay
But I want you to know
I'm addict
I'm addicted to you
Inuyasha hopped from tree to tree, searching for the youkai that were taking the souls. He knew it meant Kikyou was nearby. Wait for me, Kikyou, Inuyasha thought as he jumped to another tree. He looked up to see more of the youkai joining the one he first saw. I must be near. He hopped over a larger tree and landed in a field.
Kikyou was lying between the branches of a tree, the souls going into her body. "Inuyasha…"
"Kikyou!" Inuyasha called out, looking up. "Kikyou… I missed you."
Kikyou looked down at Inuyasha, who was staring at the ground with his face red. "Inuyasha, isn't that girl more important to you than me?"
I can't pretend I don't care
When you don't think about me
Do you think I deserve this?
Inuyasha looked up and stared at Kikyou. "But I still love you!"
Kikyou looked at Inuyasha again and then laughed. "All you men say that. How should I know you're not just playing with my heart?"
"My feelings for you…" Inuyasha looked away. "They're no lies."
Kikyou looked into Inuyasha's yellow eyes. She jumped down from the tree and walked over to him. "And my feelings for you are no lies either."
Inuyasha looked into Kikyou's eyes and took her in his arms. He held Kikyou in his arms tightly, smelling her long, shiny black hair. Kikyou had stiffened at first and then gave in. She tightened her grip around Inuyasha, feeling his warmth flow to her. "Kikyou…" Inuyasha murmured. "Ai shiteru."
But I want it and I need it
I'm addicted to you
At hearing those words, Kikyou pulled away. She reached out a hand and touched Inuyasha's cheek gently. "I love you too, Inuyasha." The snake-like creatures appeared around Kikyou, floating around her. They didn't carry any souls with them. Inuyasha knew they were there to take Kikyou away…again.
I tried to make you happy but you left anyway"Kikyou!" Inuyasha cried out, grabbing Kikyou's arm. "Stop leaving in the middle of the conversation!"
Kikyou looked away. "Please let go of my arm."
"Don't leave," Inuyasha said, still holding her arm.
"I can't always live like this," Kikyou said. "Living off dead girls' souls."
Inuyasha stared at Kikyou. Somehow she freed herself from his grip and the creatures surrounded her as she faded off into the night sky. Inuyasha stared up at the sky, wondering what the hell happened between him and Kikyou. Naraku… You killed Kikyou, Inuyasha thought angrily. I'll never forgive you for that! "Kikyou! Come back!" Inuyasha shouted to the sky. Of course he didn't get any response but a breeze that went by.
I tried to make you happy
I did all that I could
Just to keep you
But you left anyway
Inuyasha looked back down and stared at the tree Kikyou had just been sitting on. She looked so…alive. But Kikyou was dead. The bastard Naraku killed her, pretending to be him. Naraku made him and Kikyou enemies, made them hate each other. He suddenly remembered what Naraku said. 'If you two truly loved each other, then why was the trust so easily broken?' Inuyasha tightened his fists. How dare that bastard tell me how I love Kikyou?! He thought angrily.
Then he realised Naraku had a point… Inuyasha shook his head. He loved Kikyou. And he would wait for her to return. Ai shiteru, Kikyou.
How long will I be waiting?
Until the end of time
I don't know why I'm still waiting
I can't make you mine
A/N: Yeah, this is short. Gomen! I just didn't know what else to write. e.e; I'm scared I'll make them OOC, though it might already be. And this is my first Inuyasha fic!
