By: FeLicia Hoskinson
Disclaimers: I do not own any Strong Medicine cast. TPTB, Leave it to be!
Go, Its yo birthday! Go, Go, Go, Its yo birthday! I don't own the other
character's mentioned. TPTB, Leave it to be!
Note to Readers: My first attempt at Strong Medicine Fanfiction. Don't
hate, Appreciate!
To Fanfic.net, mostly, for not having lots of Andy Campbell. I want to
decorate the halls with AC! Sorry for my loony self, That's just the way I
am!
For Patricia Richardson, Who I hope won't deck me in the afterlife for all
the Fanfiction Im gonna write about her character.
And to all the army brats. Don't take the crap, We are #1!
Another thing, It's sorta short.
Here we go..
Standing, waiting for a transit. The car broke down again. The transit was
late this morning. It's late tonight. I don't understand why. Maybe the
world is out to get me. Like a doctor on a medical drama, who runs around
all day and fights lonely thoughts. Oh great, Now Im comparing myself to a
TV show.
As I pull out my umbrella, I look across the street Its quite busy,
amazingly busy. Looking up to the sky, I see the rain. Looking down, I see
puddles. Looking to the bench, I sit. The rain is calming.
I think, maybe if I was not such a clockwork working person, My family
would still be together. But what am I talking about? Its Leis' fault for
hitting me. It's his fault for not going to battering group. Come to think
of it, I still have my two daughters. It's going to be fine.
Looking up, I decide to take a chance. I lower down my umbrella. And now I
am soaked. I love the rain. All I want to do is to soak myself with the
drops that fall. I stand up, making a fool of myself. A person with an
umbrella, and yet, here I am, in the rain. I throw the umbrella into a
trash bin beside the bench. I look at the sky again. All I want to do is
stand here, and get soaked.
Finally the transit is here, and Im ready to go. I get a few stares from
people as I get on the bus. Who cares what they think. Yea, who cares! I
find an empty seat, next to a rain soaked woman, red head, with a lot of
bags. And metal, a cane, I guess.
She tells me about her vacation to Philadelphia. About her family. She even
shows me a picture of her spouse. I believe she told me her spouse's name
is Sandy, which is short for Sandra. We exchange names. And she asks me if
Andy is short for Andrea. And I ask if Kerry is short for something. And
both answer no.
We talk awhile. I end up telling her a lot. And then, Im at my stop. Her
last words to me are "Live a little. A friend taught me that." I smile,
Thanking her, running off the bus.
I run a few blocks, and Im home. Once I enter the house, Jessie calls me
from the couch. I walk into the living room, siting down on the floor
beside her.
"Feeling any better?," I ask.
"Some. Hey, Why are you soaked?," She asks.
And I answer "I played in the rain. We must live a little."
And if people ever wonder about me, Yes, I am Andy Campbell. I say to
myself "I am Andy Campbell!" Nothing has changed. All I did was take
advice, danced in the rain, and lived a little.
