The four Marauders stood in front of the Fat Lady protrait leading to the
Common Room, each trying their guess at the password that they. forgot.
"Pigskins," Peter Pettigrew, or Wormtail if you prefer, tried lamely. No
go. Sirius Black rolled his eyes. It was nearly Christmas, so perhaps "Pine
Fresh" would do. James Potter obviously had the same idea, and they both
said it at the same time. It didn't work. "Candy cane?" Remus Lupin took a
stab at it, and sure enough, the portrait swung open. .Wormtail was already
blushing at his mistake, although James and Sirius grinned, still laughing
on the inside about their password mistake. They stepped in, chuckling, and
took their usual seats in front of the fire. They were staying over
Christmas break, and everything bad that happened was being blamed on them.
"Fair enough," James said, starting up the conversation they had been
having earlier. Remus shook his head. "We should stop doing everything to
SNAPE. Its getting." "Old?" Sirius offered, and Peter nodded. "Very." James
stated.
A scream came from the girls dormitory, causing three of the Marauders to
raise a brow. Lily Evans ran down the stairs, holding a note and a rubber
snake. "JAMES POTTER." James blinked and cracked a smile. "My mistake. I
thought that was. Nicole's bed." He lied. Lily shook her head. "You IDIOT."
She threw the snake at James, hitting him in the head, and stormed out of
the common room. Sirius chuckled. Remus rolled his eyes at James. James
smiled innocently. "What? It was someone new." Sirius nodded. Remus sighed.
"Stop tormenting Lily just because you have a killer crush on her. "Who,
me?" James blinked.
Meanwhile -
Lily sat in the library, still fuming over James. He was always picking on
her, and none of the other Marauders seem to help him. Its either me,
Snape, or Malfoy, she thought with a sigh, tipping her chair back causing
the librarian to glare at her, which was unusual. Usually Lily was the star
student, perfect in the library. Lately, she'd been getting shushed by the
librarian almost every time she visited the library. What was going on with
her?
The world may never know.
Remus stomped into the library an hour later with a yawn. He was dreadfully
exhausted and he and James had had a rather large argument, all over the
girl sitting a few tables down. He didn't notice her, of course.
