"Merlin's Beard Lupin! Why do you have to be so...so...nice!" Snape yelled and with a sharp crack disapperated.

Things had gone from bad to worse in the latest of meetings for the Order of the Phoenix. Arthur had come in late, Moody had appeared with a large gash across his face and Snape had turned up in one of the worst moods that Harry had ever seen. This included his rage at the end of Harry's third year when Sirius had escaped from under Snapes over large nose.

Quickly retracting his extendible ear Harry dashed downstairs to be let into the kitchen by Mrs Weasly.

Remus was still sitting at the table with a bemused expression on his face staring at the empty seat that must have belonged to Snape. It seemed his rather odd remark had brought the meeting to an abrupt and unexpected end.

Just then Tonks giggled. The first time since Harry had arrived at the headquarters of the Order. She tried to suppress a smile as Harry and the others stared at her but broke into a fit of giggles again.

She sighed. "That is so cute," she said to herself.

Molly smiled and stood up to begin preparing the nights meal, Tonks winked at her.

"What?" Lupin exclaimed suddenly snapping out of his trance.

"Snape of course," said Tonks as this was the most obvious thing in the world.

Lupin wrinkled his nose and Harry looked around to see everyone else was as confused as he was.

"He misses him," Tonks said, again giggling at her companion's faces.

"Who?"

Tonks became serious again, "Sirius."

"Snape miss Sirius, I seriously doubt that," spat Harry. Harry still could not get over blaming Snape for what had happened to Sirius just two months ago. "He hated Sirius at school and after, why would he miss him? What makes you think Snape is even capable of human emotion anyway?"

"Harry," Molly softly scolded, "now you shouldn't speak like that about one of your teachers."

"I'll tell you how I know Severus misses Sirius," said Tonks interjecting before another fight broke out over the dinner table. "It's really all down to Remus here. Severus comes here and slings insults at everyone, sneers at out effort, goads Remus and, well, you get the point.

"Every time Severus dangles the bait or try's to yank his chain Remus sighs and ignores the bait, and generally is quite peaceful."

"So what's that got to do with Sirius?" asked Harry, not quite sure where this conversation was going.

"Well," continued Tonks, grinning broadly, "that would never have happened with Sirius. Merlin! Those two were always jerking each other off. Severus would dangle the bait and Sirius would fall for it every time, hook, line and sinker. A huge fight would then ensue each man trying to get one over on the other, trying to get the other more and more angry."

Harry didn't like the idea of Sirius falling for anything that Snape did. "So basically what your saying is Snape misses arguing with Sirius."

"Well, basically, yes. He's got all this pent up aggression and Remus...Well Remus will insist on being so...so...nice."

a/n: so what do you think. Please review and say if you think I should continue this story any further. I am working on an idea for a relationship between Tonks and Snape but its all rather up in the air at the moment but I might incorporate this little scene in the larger story. Thank you for your time ;-)
