Mission Accomplished Just a short story. A bit of RL/NT going on here as I love writing for Remus, it's just so easy. Plus this doesn't interfere with my Lupin's Summer story, as this is set during Harry's fifth year when Remus and Tonks are working for the Order.

The autumn air hit Remus with incredible impact as he and Tonks sat in the kitchen of Grimmauld Place. Sirius had opened a window and let in the breeze. He looked highly annoyed and Remus knew why.

"Don't fret Padfoot," he told Sirius reassuringly, "we'll bring you back something..."

"How about permission to come with you next time?" He asked hopefully.

"We'll see..." Tonks added, grinning, "Well, hadn't we better be off Remus?"

Remus gulped down his coffee, checked his watch and disappeared with a 'pop'. Tonks did the same and Sirius was left to moan about being alone, alone.

The next minute Remus was gazing out onto a large, grey building that looked like a broken down factory. Within seconds Tonks was behind him. Her hair today was long and blonde. She looked very youthful. Remus would've loved to have been able to alter his appearance at will. He could get rid of his wretched grey hairs and replace them with the same mousy brown hair he had had for as long as he could remember.

Remus turned his attention back to the building. He could hear a faint creaking as though the building was about to collapse of its own accord in the gentle breeze surrounding them. Tonks was moving towards it and Remus followed her.

They reached the door and the creaking got louder. Remus's wolf like hearing picked up the sound of the foundations crumbling. The building was shaking and starting to sway.

Then it happened.

The entire building began to fall forwards toward Remus and Tonks. Tonks was panicking, she clearly couldn't set her head straight. There was no time to think, only to act. Remus scooped Tonks into his arms and ran as far and as fast as he could.

Throwing her down and covering her as the building hit the hard, dirt ground, Remus was hit with fragments and glass shards. He felt something dig into his back. Dust rose around them, then silence.

Remus turned and lay next to Tonks, out of breath and with a dull ache running through his muscles. He sighed and looked over to check that Tonks was okay. Fortunately she was more than okay. She was smiling wildly. She looked into Remus's eyes and put a hand on his chest.

"You saved me..." She began.

"I did." He replied, considering it what any decent person would do.

"Thanks." She said, moving a little too close for Remus's liking. She was barely an inch away when Remus turned to lie on his back.

"Arghh! Shit my back!" He shouted, sitting upright without another thought.

Tonks edged around him, a hand on his strong shoulders to examine the damage. He had a shard of glass about six inches long sticking out of his back. Tonks used her wand to levitate it from his back. He let out a puppy like yelp and clutched his back, clearly in pain.

"Well, at least we know there weren't any Death Eaters hiding out in the building..." Remus said, sighing as his back seared with pain.
