You and me We used to be together

Every day together always

I really feel I'm losing my best friend I can't believe

This could be the end

*flashback *

"I'm Hermione Granger. And you are?"

"Ron Weasley"

*end flashback *

Hermione sighed. She had been playing that moment over and over in her head. Over and over, until it made her head spin. She rolled out of bed, and looked in the mirror. She was a total mess. Her hair, which she learned how to tame last year, was back to it's poofy self. She just really didn't care anymore.

It looks as though you're letting go And if it's real, Well I don't want to know Don't speak I know just what you're saying So please stop explaining

Don't tell me 'cause it hurts

Don't speak I know what you're thinking I don't need your reasons Don't tell me 'cause it hurts

She entered the Great Hall and looked at the Gryffindor table sadly. As usual, Ron was with Harry, probably talking about quidditch or the latest muggle car, which Harry had gotten him hooked on. Damn Harry. Damn him for being a jerk and damn him for stealing her best friend. Hermione remembered when she and Harry were together, and it was the three of them. Then Harry turned into a prat. And dumped her mercilessly. Hermione shook her head and headed toward the spot for the Head Girl at the Head Table.

Our memories They can be inviting But some are altogether Mighty frightening

As we die, both you and I

With my head in my hands I sit and cry

Dinner passed, and Hermione headed back to her room. She supposed it was her own fault, after all, she was too damn stubborn to talk to him. He never listened, anyway. She shook her head. She hated the way he always treated her like a child. She hated how he never had time for her. She hated how he worried so much about every little thing. But mostly, she hated herself. She hated that she was stubborn, and she hated that she couldn't just talk to him. She finally made up her mind. Today, after the game, she would talk to him.

It's all ending I gotta stop pretending who we are... You and me I can see us dying ... are we?

The game ended, and for the second time this year, Gryffindor lost. The first time to Slytherin, then to Ravenclaw. Hermione shook her head, and started for the locker rooms to wait for Ron. When he finally emerged, she called after him.

"Ron!"

He turned, but then Harry interfered.

"Come on, forget about her."

Ron nodded his head and continued on to the Castle. Hermione stood there in shock for a minute before hanging her head and letting the tears fall. She spoke two words.

"Good-bye, Ron."
