"Have a good day, sweetie! Make lots of friends and we'll have a slumber
party this Saturday!" my mom hollered from the car window. I waved my hand
at her and buried my nose into my manga as I strode into the school. I
found my way to the office where a hefty blonde woman with excessive makeup
handed me a schedule and told me to sit down and she'd find someone to show
me around. I heard her say into a microphone, " Mrs. Tsukamoto? Could you
send Usagi down here? We have a new student. Alright, thank you." She then
turned to me and said gently, " Don't worry sweetie, we'll get you set up.
Usagi is a nice girl." I nodded and went back to my manga. Within minutes I
heard a perky voice say, "Okay, Ms.Takeuchi! Where's the new guy?" Ms.
Takeuchi pointed at me and the person, probably the aforementioned Usagi,
bent down to my level. "Hi, I'm Usagi! What's your name?" I looked up to
see a girl of about fifteen with large meatball looking things on her head
smiling brillantly. I dusted myself off and stood up only to find that she
was way shorter than me. I stared down at her and said, " My name is Naoko.
I've heard a lot about you, Miss Usagi. Will you show me where my classes
are?" She nodded and asked, "Um...No offence but are you a boy or a girl?"
"I'm female, thanks. Shall we go now?" I said with an edge of annoyance in
my voice, which was already kind of touchy. She nodded and we started out
of the office. "So, I heard that you trasferred. From where?" "I'd rather
not say. It's too painful for me. You understand, don't you?" She nodded
and we walked into a classroom and stopped at a group of five girls and one
boy. //Okay, there are two blondes, one brunette, one with greenish hair,
one with blue, and a ravenhair. They look fine to me// I thought as I
studied them. "Naoko this is Minako." She said, indicating the blonde girl.
" Haruka, Makoto, Michiru, Ami, and Rei. Everybody, this is Naoko." I
nodded at them and gave a half-hearted smile. The ravenhair walked up to
me, grabbed one of my sidelocks and asked angrily, "Is this dye? Cause it
looks real." I shoved her hand away and tossed my hair back over one
shoulder. "Yes, it's real. I've never dyed it, got it permed, or anything
but wash, brush and comb it excessivly. It's just naturally silver. Oh and
before you ask, I'm not old, either." They laughed and the one called
Haruka asked, "What other classes do you have, Naoko? Let me see your
schedule." I handed him the slip of paper,he studied for a minute or two,
then handed it back to me. "Hm, you have some of the same classes that I
do. I'll show you where they are when the time comes." I nodded and jumped
as the bell rang. "Everyone, we have a new student today. Will she please
stand up and tell us about herself?" I stood slowly, cleared my throat and
took a deep breath.
