No Fairy Tales

The world is not like a fairy tale
Everyone has real problems that magic cannot solve.
Society is cold and bitter,
As if no one can survive
The only place that one can get away
Is when they look up at the stars
People stop to glance at the beauty above,
But if you look long and hard
You can see the one that matters.
Follow the second star to the right,
Go straight on 'til morning
For Neverland is where you'll end up.
It is a wondrous place where magic can happen
And dreams can come true,
Where society has no effect
And where fairy tale endings are possible.

I wrote this while listening to Beethoven's "Piano Sonata Number 14 in C-
sharp minor." The music got me thinking about what life is like being a
teenager and still wishing that fairy tale endings and true love is real. I
guess it also portrays a bit of what I see in the world and all that stuff.
The idea to write this came from one of Pixie Green's (on ff.net) poems,
which is a wonderful poem.
