Puzzle-chan: I don't like this fic.
Yami Puzzle: why not? You wrote it.
Pc: that's why I don't like it. I lent my Yu-Gi-Oh muse to the person writing that story "Hikari no Key"…
YP: then stop lending out your muses. Simple as that.
Pc: okay, okay, just be grateful I didn't lend out you or Van.
Van: I kind of like this fic, but isn't it a bit waffy? People are going to start thinking you write yaoi fics…
Pc: for the last time, I don't write yaoi or shonen ai! This is not a yaoi fic! They are all STRAIGHT!
YP: it's alright aibou, calm down…
Pc: *all better^_^* okay! Now, who would like to do the disclaimer?
Van: I do! I do!
Pc: go for it!
Van: Puzzle-chan does not own Yu-Gi-Oh! If she did, there would be a lot more romance and fighting! And she would be Yami's girlfriend instead of that ditz Anzu!
Nightmares
Something is wrong. I sense it. It is late, and Yugi should be sleeping; yet he is not. I sense he is afraid. Fear weighing heavy on my heart, I slowly open the door to Yugi's room. It appears that nothing is wrong. Then my eyes fall upon the figure sitting on the bed. It is Yugi, and he is shaking like a leaf. He doesn't seem to notice me as I enter the room. I lay my hand on his shoulder. He jumps, startled, and whirls around to face me. He relaxes as recognition dawns in his amethyst eyes. He has been crying, that is clear. What could have so frightened my little Hikari?
"Aibou…daijobou desu ka?"
He swallows and slowly shakes his head. I sit next to him, and put my arms around his tiny frame as he buries his face in my shirt. I sift through the flood of emotions coming through our mental link, fear, shock, despair, relief, and piece together the problem.
"Nightmare?" I ask.
My aibou pulls back a little bit. I look down at him, my own crimson eyes locked on to his amethyst ones. He nods. I pull him close to me again, and rock him back and forth.
"It's alright, it was just a dream. It's all gone now, I'm here."
As I speak, he gradually stops trembling, and I realize that the sound of my voice must help. With this in mind, I begin chanting as I rock him. Just a simple Egyptian lullaby, one that I often heard in my youth, but it seems to calm him a great deal. Eventually, my little one is asleep once more. I gently lay his head on the pillow, and tuck the blankets around him. As I leave the room, I say softly, "Goodnight, my Hikari…" before silently closing the door.
Owari
Pc: good god, that was so sappy I could make syrup from it.
YP: it wasn't that bad…
Pc: oh yeah? Then just how bad was it?
YP: oh come on, don't start, it was good…
Pc: that's what you always say. Flattery will get you nowhere. Here. *hand over my Easter chocolate to my yami*
YP: what's this for?
Pc: oh, nothing… (actually, flattery works just fine! ^_^)
Van: please review! Come on, you know you want to send her and ego booster! All flames will be used to burn Anzu at the stake!
