Sakura's Chronicles

Two Hearts

Sakura sped towards Li's house, not bothering to slow down, no matter how tired she was. She had thought a lot about Li the past few days, especially since their fight.

Without realizing it she was clutching onto the key around her neck. She didn't figure there was anything to be worried about, at least not anything that needed Clow Cards to deal with.

Li and Meilin were practicing outside. Usually when they practiced they were careful, trying not to hurt one another, but Li was annoyed and so he hit Meilin as full force. Luckily for her she was a better fighter, but she was keeping it down, trying not to hurt Li. Li punched past her defense and hit her in the chest, sending her backwards.

She growled and responded by fighting at her full level, sending a punch right into Li's face. Li hit the ground and blood seeped from his nose. Sakura stopped, looking at Meilin, standing over Li angrily.

"Release!" Sakura yelled, calling forth the wand. Li looked at her and grabbed his sword.

"Force know my plight, release the light. Lightning!" He yelled, a stream of electricity erupting from his blade and disarming Sakura. Sakura screamed for a second in fright and then realized Li didn't mean to hurt her. Li sent a complaining Meilin inside and looked at Sakura.

"Li! I'm… I'm… I'm so sorry!" She began to cry. Li walked over and put an arm around her, whispering to her in a soft, gentle voice:

"Sakura… Don't cry, it's partially my fault, too," he realized that all the anger he had began to fade away. He placed a small kiss on her cheek and consoled her.

"Li…" Sakura whispered, her tears beginning to stop. Sakura looked at Li and began to chew at her bottom lip. Li looked back at her, noticing how gentle and pretty her eyes were. He tossed the sword aside without thinking and walked over to the key, as the wand had returned to its normal state, and walked back to Sakura.

He gentle slid the necklace over her head and around her neck, leaving his arms around her neck when he was done. They looked at each other for a second and Sakura leaned up to Li.

"Li, I came here to tell you something…" Sakura whispered. Li turned red, realizing how close she was and put his arms slowly to his sides.

"What did you come to tell me?" He whispered, flushing even deeper red. She giggled a little, seeing how deep a red he was turning. She wanted to play with him a little bit so she put her head on his shoulder and whispered:

"I'm sorry about the fight. I don't like fighting with you, it makes me so sad," Li knew this was not what she had come to say. Sakura gave him a grin and continued to play with him.

"So… are we okay with each other now?" She asked. Li gave her a look, as if she was stupid, and responded playfully:

"Yes, you idiot!" He smiled; she did too, knowing he was only kidding. She put her arms around him, tired of playing games with him she finally said what she meant to.

"Li, I love you," she whispered. Li was taken aback and then looked back, deep into her eyes. He replaced his arms around her neck and whispered back.

"I love you, too, Sakura Kinomoto," Li replied. The two kissed, and Meilin walked outside fuming. Sakura pulled away and smiled to Meilin.

            "I win…" She laughed.
