Hikari and Yami

Dark and silent is the room

The occupant inside obediently quiet

Snow white hair of an angel's wing

Covering a tear-tracked face

Dried blood streaked on the pale ivory walls

Crimson footprints staining the carpet

Shattered glass dispersed upon the ground

Tips and edges dyed red…

Chocolate brown eyes screaming out sorrow

Cut and bruised lips shut tight in pain

His battered, wounded body lying on the floor

Crying for release

His innocence taken, his spirit broken

His angelic hair dyed in claret

The spark in his eyes long gone

Never will he be the same

When he looks in the mirror at his image

He sees beyond his pale, sad face

Someone who looks almost like him

The cause of his pain and agony

The other side, the other half

One of maliciousness and greed

He is like his soft-hearted twin

But only with eyes of cold, hard frost

His grin spells cruelty

His fists show no emotion or regret

Burying themselves in the other's body

His face a well-worn mask

Cut, bleeding, and abused

Blood-red misery pouring to the ground

When the torture is done

He is left alone to remember

Spirit of the Ring

Ancient spirit of Egyptian magic

He controls his host's body by force

Leaving the other locked in the dark

Over and over the fallen angel cries

Screaming for deliverance

But knowing if he had the option

His "other" would take over

So instead he waits with patience

Hoping his "other" will change

Change and stay for the better…

He hopes he'll turn and have a good heart

Pain over the years could soon fade away

And maybe then…

It will all end in peace
